Enter unto His rest

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." 2 Cor. 3:17

I've realized this past week, the beauty of grace and how we don't have to do a thing to enter the Lord's rest. A simple walk from class came my revelation...
Christianity? So many rules to follow. I have to give up so much, I can't do the things my flesh wants to do! But, here's what I realized. God has granted us ETERNAL life. For what we give up is only a glimpse of what we will recieve.

"What is more I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him" (Philip. 3:8-9).
"For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison (2 Cor. 4:17 ESV).

Not only this, but last week I was struggling with alot of worry and doubt. I realized the simplicity of knowing Christ. That we can cast all our cares on him, because he cares for us that much that he takes care of our every need if we just TRUST in him (1 Peter 5:6-7).
When we come to know Jesus, we have more freedom than we did before we accepted him as Lord and Savior. Our response to certain actions is simply in response to his grace. Because of his sacrfice, I know I want to do all I can to honor him in that and thanking him for dying on the cross for me.

"Dear, dear Corinthians, I can't tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. We didn't fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren't small, but you're living them in a small way. I'm speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!" 2 Cor. 6:11-13 The Message Paraphrase.

So lets go and open our hearts and live the expansive life we are called to live. Free from all that entangles us!
