The enemy will put thoughts into our head the fact that we have these thoughts doesn't make it a sin because we can't control what the devil puts in our heads. BUT what we CAN control is our meditation on them.
Take for instance the devil puts a lustful thought into my head "that guy has a nice butt why don't you touch it" the fact that you had that thought isn't a sin but if you go touch his butt it IS a sin. ALSO-if you keep going with that thought if you don't STOP IT AT IT'S ROOT-you begin to fantasize about other things then you are sinning.
To put it simpler: The devil wants us to create roads, he wants us to take his evil thought and create a journey, a journey that leads to destruction. This is why it's so important for us to have pure and holy thoughts. God knows the most detailed parts of our lives, even our THOUGHTS.
Psalm 94:11 (NIV)
The LORD knows the thoughts of man;
he knows that they are futile.
Psalm 19:14 (NIV)
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
So take every thought captive and bring into submission to the mind of Christ (which we have as believers) 2 Corinthians 10:5.

College: a four (0r more!) year window in a person's life when God has maximum opportunity to build a foundation into a life lived for Him.
-The depth of the foundation you build in college will determine the strength and height of your building in the years to come. -Do you want to be a giant skyscraper for Christ or a little one-story bungalow? (See Luke 6:47-49)

We no longer have to be sinners, we are all called to be free from the sin that so easily entangles.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."-Hebrews 12:1-3
"When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."-Col. 2:13-15
It is our job as Christians to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation"-Mark 16:15. To tell our friends, and whoever else may be placed in our path with a given opportunity the TRUTH. The TRUTH of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is our calling to share the LOVE of Christ to ALL.
It is important that we rely on God's spirit to give us the words we speak when we are confronting people who do not know Jesus.
God wants all his children to be free from sin so that they may live in peace with themselves and God.
Lets not be afraid when speaking to people about Jesus.
As Christians go through this comming week as Fred Phelps' hateful group "God Hates Fags" will be on our campus let us not be timid about the truths of the gospel and keep these scriptures in mind.
Let us show the love of Christ to ALL of God's creation and show our campus that we Christians are not anything like Fred Phelps' group.
We are all sinners, sin is sin and it separates us from God so let us all "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord" -Acts 3:19.

Ezekiel 2
Ezekiel's Call to Be a Prophet
1 He said to me, "Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you." 2 As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.
3 He said: "Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have been in revolt against me to this very day. 4 The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn. Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says.' 5 And whether they listen or fail to listen—for they are a rebellious house—they will know that a prophet has been among them. 6 And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or be terrified by them, though they are a rebellious house. 7 You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious. 8 But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you."
9 Then I looked, and I saw a hand stretched out to me. In it was a scroll, 10 which he unrolled before me. On both sides of it were written words of lament and mourning and woe.
Ezekiel 3
And he said to me, "Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the house of Israel." 2 So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat.
3 Then he said to me, "Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it." So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.
4 He then said to me: "Son of man, go now to the house of Israel and speak my words to them. 5 You are not being sent to a people of obscure speech and strange language, but to the house of Israel— 6 not to many peoples of obscure speech and strange language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you. 7 But the house of Israel is not willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for the whole house of Israel is hardened and obstinate. 8 But I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they are. 9 I will make your forehead like the hardest stone, harder than flint. Do not be afraid of them or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious house."
10 And he said to me, "Son of man, listen carefully and take to heart all the words I speak to you. 11 Go now to your people in exile and speak to them. Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says,' whether they listen or fail to listen."
12 Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound as the glory of the LORD rose from the place where it was standing. 13 It was the sound of the wings of the living creatures brushing against each other and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling sound. 14 The Spirit then lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness and in the anger of my spirit, with the strong hand of the LORD on me. 15 I came to the exiles who lived at Tel Aviv near the Kebar River. And there, where they were living, I sat among them for seven days—deeply distressed.
16 At the end of seven days the word of the LORD came to me: 17 "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 18 When I say to the wicked, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their lives, those wicked people will die for their sins, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 19 But if you do warn the wicked and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sins; but you will have saved yourself.
20 "Again, when the righteous turn from their righteousness and do evil, and I put a stumbling block before them, they will die. Since you did not warn them, they will die for their sins. The righteous things they did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 21 But if you do warn the righteous not to sin and they do not sin, they will surely live because they took warning, and you will have saved yourself."
22 The hand of the LORD was on me there, and he said to me, "Get up and go out to the plain, and there I will speak to you." 23 So I got up and went out to the plain. And the glory of the LORD was standing there, like the glory I had seen by the Kebar River, and I fell facedown.
24 Then the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet. He spoke to me and said: "Go, shut yourself inside your house. 25 And you, son of man, they will tie with ropes; you will be bound so that you cannot go out among the people. 26 I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you will be silent and unable to rebuke them, for they are a rebellious house. 27 But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says.' Whoever will listen let them listen, and whoever will refuse let them refuse; for they are a rebellious house.

We always talk about what satan's telling us, how we've been so attacked today/this week/LAST week? What about Jesus!? Sometimes we get so caught up in the negative that we forget all the great things God has blessed us with. (I'm sure guilty of this) Jesus didn't come so that we live in worry, doubt, confusion, and fear. He came so that we would have life and enjoy it to the full (John 10:10).
If we could all just stop talking about what satan's telling us, and share what Jesus is telling/doing for us we'd live much more enjoyable lives. And isn't that what satan wants us to do keep spreading his little lies and bring more people into his confusion? "GOD is NOT the author of confusion, but of PEACE" is told to us directly in 1 Cor. 14:33. There have been times in my life where I've been so confuesed and worried about situations, relationships, etc. But, when this feeling overcomes me I just have to step back and say hey listen up-I've felt tremendous peace here plenty of times before so I'm not going to listen to this crap.
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). We need to look beyond our circumstances and start seeing things the way Jesus would.
Living expectingly, expecting God to bless you.
You know, I don't know why we complain so much and get so down on ourselves, we have EVERYTHING to live for! If we could just look beyond the natural and start looking into the supernatural realm and see with Jesus's eyes, oh man, my life would be so much more peaceful. And you know what-we do have that peace. A peaceful life begins with a peaceful mind -it doesn't do good to say I wish I had some peace. It's a decision. Start by saying-I DO have peace in my life, and you'll start to see the fruit ripen.
Living Our Lives as an Example
I think it's time we start seeing Christian's living lives of example. Keeping our mouths clean, our thoughts clean, and our ears. Well-you say I can't control what other people say-well of course you can't! BUT-you CAN speak up when someone is saying foul things and rebuke them in a kind way. Just because your friends are giggling about who had sex with who at the party last night doesn't mean you should go on laughing with them. SPEAK UP. Quit being so shy and ashamed of yourself, of JESUS. If we want to truly live lives for Jesus, we've got to be the hands, the feet, and the mouth. We've got to go out and speak the word of God to our friends, we've got to serve others in love, we can't keep living in fear of what other people think. We live in a world that is looking for help-they don't want religion and over spiritualized answers. They want friendly people who go above and beyond their own strengths to help them. We've got that you know-we are a part of the body of Christ, and we have the holy spirit living WITHIN US! We've got to start bringing more people into the Kingdom, and it starts today.
